I picked up one of the new Rapid Open Combat Knife (R.O.C.K.) prototypes from Gavin last week. It's another great flipper with style and ingenuity. It has a lock like old Italian switchblades and is ambidextrous. The blade is S35VN and the frame is anodized aluminum. The lock clip is titanium.

Here's a look:

As all G&G Hawk flippers do, it flies open with not much more than a suggestion, and locks securely in place. I wouldn't trust the lock like I would a frame lock, but it should be fine for normal use. Overall, it's another great knife and will take it's place in my collection among all the other varieties of G&G Hawk knives I can get my hands on. :D

nice picture! :) how does the lock work on it? never handled an italian switchblade before. :o

rear spine of the blade has a notch that catches under the titanium piece on the top of the handle. Use your thumb to slightly raise the latch and the blade will swing freely down again.

I'd pick one up if the they'd thin out that butt area of the handle, giving more room to grip. Still, a nice looking knife.

A pic borrowed from edcknives...

Not a fan of this one. I like their RAM design tho.

I like the overall look. The handles look a little thin for my hands and I would really want to hold one before purchasing. Overall i like it.
