Having owned the original variation, I can tell you that it's not like a ball-lock Native. Totally different knife.

Had the original, sold it and I regret it. I like the steel version more where it comes to looks.. Lots of people seemed to be so concerned about the wideness of the knife while it was as wide as military for instance. Great design.

This one is so much lighter than the original. The weight of the stainless handle was what prevented me from picking one up in the past. I'm probably going to have one of these little guys in the next few months.

Now if only they'd do a g10 or FRN Lava...

A G-10 screw together Lava would rock. I've got the original, and I love it, but sometimes I just want something a bit lighter. Maybe one with smooth scales, or a little less grippy then normal?

+1 I would love a G10 lava!! I really love the look of the Lava just the weight of the SS handle has stopped me from buying one.

I am REALLY looking forward to the G10 Poliwog. I have the original and would love to carry it more but it's just too heavy for me, the G10 will be perfect

I think the worst thing about the Poliwog is how it looks.

My two main functional complaints would be saber ground blade (:thumbdn:) and that it's as wide as it is tall when closed.

it does look goofy but it feels great in the hand.

I've never heard of a ball-lock native. Did i miss something?
