Sinjin-

Rather than try to explain it, here's another pic with labels...

BTW, you and I will have to meet up at some point--you being in the SF Bay Area with all those neat toys!

Ron, Thanks for the quick reply. Will you be going to the BAKCA show in Palo Alto this year? Major show and tell, we will have to set up a luncheon for BF members!

Ron had also posted this over in the Wilderness area forums as well so I thought I'd drag the info I added here;

Much Thanks Ron!
That was a sucker to make and MAN what a folder! Tank is putting it mildly! and she was pretty sharp as well!

You are correct sir, the belt rides between the fire starter and the main housing of the knife, the entire back side is actually the belt loop itself, glued and stitched along the bottom, Ron your blue line is pointing to the stitched seam of the fire starter for the belt loop, it's actually more to the right side of that, the line along the sharpener well...and the entire rig hangs vertical on to the belt.

The bulk of the sheath is all one piece which is fun to try and form and make work right and keep things tight.

At first Ron wanted just the Sharpener alongside. The box arrived with that fire starter and a note asking to include it as well....joy...

I looked over several options and decided that back placement was more or less ideal with it being as wide as it is, in that you don't use it frequently anyways and mounting on the front would make the knife sheath section not as conforming to the knife, which snaps into place nicely, given the curve of the back of the blade into the sheath. Overall she's a bit to carry but if you were headed out into who knows what, you'll not worry about that too much!

Wow, that looks like it was very hard to make...

True words Keith...:)
The neat thing it's made up out of one piece of leather with the exception of the small add on pouch for the fire starter, the rest is cut/shaped/glued and hand sewn from one piece of leather, much fun in the fit up to keep things in place while shaping!

Gary, my friend--After looking at that creation I just happened to remember why I stick mainly to the straight blade. It seems that you are back with a vengeance and I congratulate you. Be talking to you! Sandy

Gary, as I said on the phone, that is a beauty! A real challenge met.
Thanks for all the advice this morning.
