New GB Sheath

Got the new GB Sheath today.

Looks like what one would expect from Gfeller Casemakers.

Very utilitarian. Very snug. Very nice.

Now, if I can get the pictures to appear.

WOW!

As a maker and seller of Kydex sheaths, I've got to admit, that is REALLY nice! How is the retention?

Set me back $61 shipped.

Retention is very good, very tight...tight all the way down, not just at one point. No knife is going to fall out of this. I hope (expect) it will loosen up a bit with time, which will be good.

Thanks FivePointOhh for putting the pics together. Do you use html to do that?

There will be a new Green Beret Knife released at the Blade Show next month.

This one will be the same as the current model (handle size) but with a shorter 5.5" blade.

Thank you very much Neil (his voice dripping with sarcasm) as if I did not have enougth knives to save up for as it was :D
 
I dont mean to be a stick in the mud, But 5.5" will depend on how they measure the blade.
I have a Shadow III and the Book measure is 4". The actual measure from tip to handle (Texas Measure)is 4.25".
I like the shorter idea, but I'd be sure of the length before I'll pack it to Texas.
 
& here I thought everything was BIGGER in Tejas !! Mebbe it comes from looking at the world through the bottom of a glass ???

Hello fellows,

Is the sheath pictured a new leather sheath by Chris Reeves ?

Or is this a custom made leather sheath ?

It looks like leather anyway by the pic....is there a Chris Reeve link that describes the new sheath ?
