New GB

Well, I just obtained a new GB. In short, this thing is sweeeet. I like it better than the AR, because of the heavy tip. Someone else around here said it reminds him of a shark, and that's a fitting description. This thing has a nose on it like a great white. I like the heft of it better than the AR. The lock-up on this GB is smooth and solid like a vault door; it is hands down the best folder I've ever laid my hands on. No doubt about it, no one makes tantos like Strider. I can't wait to see what the tanto SnG feels like.

I second that. I have a DB and a BT-SS, both superb knives. AFIK, Strider makes the best Americanized Tanto blades out there, bar none.

Good for you, Ad. You have yourself a killer knife there. I have the same model, and have already put mine through it's paces early this morning. I bought mine on the secondary market. It came to me wicked sharp, and I've used it heavily nearly every morning since. I've yet to sharpen it.

Al, I'm curious, what do you cut every morning?

Hi Lynn.
I deliver morning editions for the Medford Mail Tribune, and also the Wall Street Journal on business days. About 350 papers per morning. The bundles are wrapped with a fibrous plastic strap (appears to be extruded) and I use my GB to cut these straps. It gets through them very easily. Very much on par with my plain edge Commanders, if not better. This morning I did a fair amount of cutting at 8 papers per bundle. The edge IMO, is great. The weight of the knife I feel has something to do with it's effectiveness. At the very least, in a perceived sense. Love the GB / AR. Can't wait to get my SnG!

Yea, I definitely can't wait for the SnG. I plan to get the tanto first; I think the spearpoints will be out first, so I may have a little extra waiting. Maybe by X-Mas?
