Im sure im not the only one on here that buys stuff all the time. I recently took a camping trip and while on the trip i realized there were several things that would have been nice to have. So this last week i picked up a few of them

Petzl TacTikka Headlamp, Exotac nanoStriker, and a P38 can opener.

So im sure some of yall have some new gear. Post some pics.

I love hiking and camping. It's a great way to weed out unneeded items and find more useful stuff for your BOB or day packs.

Only new thing I've gotten in the last week is the ESEE-3 MIL.

that tikka headlamp is a champ, I've got the same one just not the tactical version and I have literally put it through hell. You won't be disappointed.

I second that, I've got the same one the OP has. You may want to look into the adapt kit for it. Its not for everyone but for me it allowed me to mount the light on my flak jacket/lbv, belt, or where ever else I needed light. I've dragged mine through some pretty nasty stuff. Lately I've only been using it for readin books in bed when I don't want to get up and turn on/off the light. Nice choice!

well mine will be a little bigger.

I can see that next campout there is going to be a pipe size comparison.

Will I be more impressive if I have two? :D

Actually I've made several, since Home Depot only had copper pipe in 10' or longer pieces when I went there, and then I had to experiment to see if PVC pipe would work (put a brass fitting on the end, works great, didn't melt).

I also bought a Fenix TK30 flashlight, 630 Lumens, I love it! It will be great for when I am out in my kayak on the lake at night. Also added a Quark Mini 123 light, and a Fenix LD01 AAA light, both very handy. Now you guys start talking about Tikka headlamps, I'm going to have to check them out too!

Oh, and I have a Junglas on the way now :). Money is just hemorrhaging from my wallet lately!

we really need to get a kayaking trip put together

That sounds like fun. Last weekend I went kayaking/camping down the Brazos river with some friends. I caught a buffalo that was around 20 lbs on an ultralight rod & reel, that was fun. My friend caught a couple of alligator gar, one just under 5' and the other 6' 2", fun! It was windy and rained hard, now I've got a bit of rust to clean off my Lite Machete 'cause it was wet all weekend :) . (I'm not that familiar with places to put in / take out on the river, so it was helpful to have a friend who knew the area.)

The mr would probably love to go. We could bring both our kayaks. I'd stay back though. Kayaking wouldn't work for me right now.

Are the doc's ever going to be able to fix your back so you don't hurt? That's got to be a drag!

I actually met some kayaking friends at Stubblefield a couple of weeks after our campout there, it really wasn't any more crowded than when we were there, I guess not that many archery hunters. It was a nice paddle down to the lake, and up the river. Now that the gun season is about to start though, would not be the place to be :) .

I'll probably bring my kayak next time, if we do a Spring campout.

I just got a Eskabar the other day. Quite a disappointment really.

Love the nano-striker. I keep mine in the sheath of my rucksack sak. Might have to grab one in orange.

As others have stated the Tikka is a great headlamp. I've used mine the most during power-outages.
