I came home from work today to find this in my mailbox.

The bone on this one is really sweet. I wish I could take better pics.

Rick, that is indeed some very nice primitive bone. I'm loving the long pull on this one. I've never noticed GEC using a long pull pattern like that before now.

Beautifully matched and a perfect Coke bottle shape as well, a real winner, Rick!

I do think that is GECs first use of match-striker pulls of any kind, much less on a long pull.

Thats a nice one. Looks like they did a good job matching up the scales on both sides. The long matchstrike pull is a very nice touch.

Just curious, and don't want to seem like a critic, but is there a reason why two of the rivets are set so deep ? My knowledge of GEC's is very minimal and I was curious if that was common to certain patterns ?

That one went right over my head. I was so busy admiring the bone that I didn't even realize the match-striker pull was a new thing.:o

The deeply set pins don't really concern me too much. I picked this knife from a photo lineup of 6 knives and each one had at least one "countersunk" pin. The pins on mine are sunk deeper than the others though.

I'm just assuming that it's nothing to worry about but I would be interested in hearing comments from others on this as well.

Nice knife! The matchstriker pull goes with the "crude" bone profiles, sort of a new Oldtime look.
Cool!!

The deepset pins are a result of the bone thickness.
Using too long a pin sometimes causes the pin to "tilt" or skew.

WOW!!!! That's one sweeeeeeet looking knife Rick. The scales are very evenly matched side to side and the coloring in the scales is very nice too. As Charlie said, the matchstrike pull really sets it off with a somewhat old-time look. Great pics.

rick you picked a real winner .my linerlock23 primitive came in today . these are really special since no one is doing this handle material. good pics thank you .---dennis

Thanks for all the compliments folks.

I'm really getting hooked on this Primitive Bone stuff.

The bone really has great character. I bet it'll get even better after a time of handling and using it. Nice score

I really do think the best of the primitive bone (like yours, Rick) is right up there with the best stag (current, not Sheffield) and ram's horn, and it's even more rare.

Dennis has the right idea-- stock up while you can, the supply is definitely limited.
