This is my 3rd GEC Northfield Harness Jack. There is an exact match to this one but with a Spear blade in place of the Clip blade available from the dealer I got this one from. I'm thinking I just might have to get it in order to round out my Harness Jack cache to 4.

Ed, you've got a fever. And the only thing to cure it is...more harness jacks!

Does that leather punch or reamer? work as good as the SAK versions do by chance?

Thanks and great looking knife:thumbup:

Very nice, Ed. The long pull & swedge & threaded bolsters all work together to make a beautiful knife! Great bone, too!

Ed, as I've got the spear main, tell me which you think is the more useful for EDC, it or the clip. I might just have to get one of those too!

I've always liked the looks of a clip blade over a spear blade and I do find that for most all of my day-to-day tasks a clip blade is the better choice. However, for some of the farm and ranch chores that I do on occasion, I find the spear blade to be a better choice -- working with animals/livestock. I also like a spear blade when hunting as it is for my .02¢ a better shinning blade that a clip blade.

The color of those scales is perfect.

Congrats!

For a big knife, it's got very nice elegant proportions, the threaded bolsters and longpull are just it! Some tasty bone on board that one too, I'm sure you will be VERY pleased with it as a workingman's knife.

Yes, the awl/punch works as well as any awl/punch found on the various SAK knives. Notice that the awl/punch on these GEC knives does not have a sewing eye that some of the SAK knives have but it would be easy enough to drill a sewing eye in the GEC awl/punch if needed for your tasks.

Very good looking bone and jigging on this knife. I prefer the clip style blade for looks, but one needs to factor in there uses. You got a nice one there Ed.
