Got this GEC Tidioute Scout Liner Lock with Mexican Bocote handles.

I think I'll put this one in my hunting, accessory, belt, pouch that I use for short outings while rabbit and squirrel hunting. GEC calls the blade on this knife a Drop Point/Skinner so I'll put it to the test while skinning rabbits.

It's a fine knife! The two I have, stag and bone are much valued, that wood with the shield looks excellent.

Do those come with sheaths Ed? Nice one.

As joe-bob said, they don't come with sheaths but there are many aftermarket sheaths available that would accomodate it. The knife is 3 3/4" and I find that it carries nicely in either of my front pockets.

Nice looking knife! Congrats.

I like this pattern on many levels. How is the over-all FF , walk and talk?

Ken

The over-all FF is very good bordering on excellent and the walk and talk is crisp and positive. On a scale of 1-10 10 being the highest, the pull is 7-8. Not a nail breaker but pretty stout. It has a solid half-stop and the lock-up is positive with no play what-so-ever either up or down or sideways.

The steel is 1095.

Good looking wood on that one Ed.
Do they use 1095 for the liner lock as well?

The 1095 thakes on a nice color over time. The natural patina turns a nice blue/grey after a while.

these 73's are one of the pocketable of the gec line. really as much pocketknife as anyone needs. this model as well as the new lockback are strong enough to handle any reasonable task. although i only have 2 of the lockbacks i have'nt even counted the 23s i have. certainly there is a handle in this pattern to make all of us happy.

My lockback does not. It's an easy smooth pull all the way to the locked position.

I don't have any linerlocks, sorry, can't help you there.

Yes, as I said above, this knife does have a stout pull to the half-stop and then to the fully open position but it isn't a nail-breaker.
