Some time ago, I purchased a GEC Tidioute Lockback with Stonewashed Blue bone scales. At the time, the color seemed a bit odd so I gifted it to another forum member. Everytime the fellow I gifted the knife to shows his picture of it it looks better and better to me soooooooooooooo I bought another one. It arrived today. Here it is.

GEC calls this knife a "mini-hunter". There is no ½-stop, the pull is very smooth, and it takes little effort to open the knife. The length of the knife closed is 3 7/8" with the blade being right at 3 1/16".

I'm fortunate that I was able to replace my original knife. You can be sure that this one isn't leaving home unless it is with me.

Just so you know Ed, your old one doesn't just sit around in a drawer.
I think about you, this forum, and all the positive things that go on here whenever I use it.

That blue is really striking. Glad you got that second one.

Beautiful knife! Im not too big fan of the tacky tidioute font/text etched to the blade but the are easy to remove.

It's a nice one and the color as well, but I prefer knives with half stop for the sake of my fingers safety.

Beautiful. The 72 I just got is becoming one of my all time favorites. I didn't think anything would ever kick my small classic sebenza from spot #1 in my edc, but this has- at least for now. There are a couple more in my future for sure! Fantastic knife.:thumbup:

That bone looks almost translucent! very nice, its settling in well as it ages.

Ed, I always did like that knife. Your new one looks really nice too. I've got to think, by looking at the one you gave Stu, that he is enjoying it. Well done sir.

I know it hasn't been sitting around in a drawer Stu. Thanks for posting that picture. Now the guys can see what I meant about your posting pictures of that knife. It is coming along nicely and it's nice to know it's getting plenty of use.

I'm going to slip mine in my pocket today and carry it for awhile.:)

Guess I need to take my blue 73 out of the box and admire it. Folks here were poo-pooing the blue a while back.

I believe you are referring to a thread about "Blue Stag". It seems that not too many of the folks like "Blue Stag" but like Blue Bone just fine.

GEC, man...they just cant get it wrong can they!
When are they going to bring out a Blue Stag one? lol...ok bad joke, in all seriousness...awesome looking knife, great pics too by the way.
I am surprised to read you saying the knife takes little effort to open, with my very minor experience with this great company( and thanks to two great members) the gec's I have have quite a assertive pull on them.
Thanks Ed for showing us, much appreciated.

I have that same blue lockback. It's one of my users. It's a great knife; I wish they would make the bigger size.

Yeah, they make the bigger #23 frame with a linerlock but not a lockback. I too would be interested in a #23 frame lockback.
