This is the GEC Tidioute Mini Lockback Hunter with their Ruby Red bone handles. The knife is 3 7/8" long with a blade 3 1/8" long. The blade steel is 1095. The pull is very smooth and has no half-stop. The effort to open it is about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Look at the back side (pile side) of the blade. See that funky looking etch with three Ps that looks like a propeller -- somebody said what it meant once but it has long ago slipped my mind.

Pattern Production Premier ..... I guess it's the first run of a new pattern? At any rate, another nice lookin' knife, Ed!

They are sweet knives, Ed, I've got one in orange and love it. Excellent single blade EDC.

Nice photos, too!

Man, that's nice! Some of the prettiest red jigged bone yet from GEC! I wish they would offer that ruby red bone in the new 53 Cattle Rancher series!

That's a fine looking knife, Ed! Great pics too!

Nice and easy on the pull scale for a GEC.

I don't own any GEC lockbacks. Are the pulls typically light on those?

Yes, light and silky feeling, with a wonderful "tink" when the lock clicks in.

Smooth openers for sure and easy to close too, no excess pressure needed on the locking mechanism to disengage.

Very smart looking in that Red , Ed!

I really do like the Red on this knife. It is very deep and rich with no fading at the bolster ends. The jigging pattern is nice too. It really sets the knife off.

I like it just like all the tidioutes there very nice looking but not overdone and make excellent users and EDC's.

I read on AAPK (I think) that it means if I remember corretly something like "pattern pre production" and they should be those after prototypes but with no serial number
have a couple PPP ones

nice piece, great even color, handled a cpuple for a few friends and they were indeed SMOOTH as butter

Pattern Production Premier - the first 250 or 400 (bad memory) of each new model number; just when the first two numbers are new, not a new variation.
