Looks like a great knife at an excellent price,going to order 3 of them in the morning ,why is it not even on the buck website yet,but for sale on others?:confused::confused:
 
It's not on the website yet because the dealers get first crack at the new products. The Buck website and factory store have to wait until other orders are filled before they get new products.

You should get a better price at other sites anyway..... Knife center has the new 420HC Gen-5 for $55 !!
 
Thats where i'm looking.lol thanks ,i can understand that makes perfect business sense to me.
 
OK,I recieved my new gen 5 skinners today fed ex just dropped them off,I am very impressed so far ,I just got done cutting up some potatoes ,carrots and venison.I think one of them is going to stay in the kitchen,the quality and construction of this knife on a scale of 1-10 is 10!It is well built ,beautiful,fits the hand like a good knife should,and is hair poppin sharp right out of the box,great buy on this little knife folks!imho
 
I have a couple incoming but I ordered mine from Larry Oden.
Its a great knife design! I can hardly wait to have a Gen 5 user!!!! ;)
 
wh4f can you post a pic of your fancy gen 5 ?thanks,soon i will have my computer back and then i will post some pics of the bucks i've managed to get since my collection was stolen last year.not a lot of fancy ones,but thanks to a memeber here i have some nice old 110's ,some i thought i'd never aquire again.

Its like Christmas all over again,lol

Thats a sweet knife wh4f!These 420hc gen 5 skinners came with nice cordura sheaths,either vertical or horizontal carry options,i'm thinking its going to work great getting in the truck without having the sheath catch or hang up on things!

Feild testing tomorrow!lol
 
So far so good!

Great knife! The sheath design is perfect (IMHO)

I really like the way that Buck is finishing their knives *almost* mirrored!
(except for hollow grind marks) it gives them a great contrast! Years back they left all the finish marks, now its almost like the blades are tumbled for a while before the edge is put on! Beauties!!!!!!!!





I definately *need* the other 2 that are new for 2008 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Nice knives,i can't seem to be able to post pics ,do i need an upgraded membership here or something,if ni e-mail my pics to somebody can they post them?So far i have yet to touch up the factory edge of the gen 5 after enough use to warrant a good sharpening,its still cutting like a super steel knife,Buck has a winner here.
