New Gerber 06 Manual

Just picked this baby up. S30v, plunge lock and aluminum scales.
Seems like a very beefy knife, almost a direct copy of the auto
except for the blade and auto feature. I've always liked the 06 auto,
but living here in TX it would get me a class "b" misdemeanor. :rolleyes:

Pretty good looking knife. I always wanted a gerber 06, but the price plus being an auto always somewhat turned me off. Too bad they dont make some plain edge versions, i would buy that in a heart beat.

Yes, wish it was plain edge too. Really impressed by the strength of this lock so far..
 
Only bad thing is, I could go on about how it saved my life by cutting my way out of a car, but according to this bought and paid for forum, it wouldn't even come close to a Kershaw or Spyderco...:)

It doesn't appear to be for sale yet; it doesn't show up on the normal Gerber site and a Google search for the model number only returns hits to the Gerber Military site.

Gerber puts out some good stuff. The problem is that their lower priced items are CHEAP, not just low priced. There's a difference. Kershaw and Spyderco still have some quality in their lower priced items.
 
plain edge would definitely be a winner.
may have to check with some of my LEO friends and see if they can get it.
