hello together,

I´m the new guy here and want to introduce me:

my name is gerhard wieland, 59 years old,
but only 5 years young in blacksmithing.
my professions were goldsmithing and dental technique.

after some knives by stockremoval in the 1980´s and a long break I began bladesmithing end of 2004.
since then I´m learning by doing-

I believe in ´sole authorship´ and build my knives in my own style:
-forged mono-steelblades, with partly remaining scale and differently hardened
-fine forged half-integrals with clean lines

since june 2008 I´m fulltime-bladesmith.
this is my website, please cheque it out: www.wieland-der-schmied.de

here are some pictures of one of my knives- not the latest, but a typical one,
I hope you like it!

thanks for looking!

best regards

gerhard

ps.:
sorry for my ´german english´ and the homemade pics...

You seem to make a nice knife.

Edit- I just looked through your site. Some of those little integrals are sweet!!

Nice!

Where in Germany?

I have family in Nagold, Gumatten Kirche (bei Ampfing), Kaufbeuren, Neugoblonz and Munchenn

Gerhard, I am a bladesmith, too, so we speak the same language - I understood you just fine.
That is a beautiful knife and I hope we get to see much more of your work.
We need more influence from other makers here.
