...or "How to fix the BK14 sheath dulling issue" :D

Had something nice waiting for me on my door step today, some brand new kydex trousers for my BK14 from Godspeed!!! I LOVE this thing!! Retention? Perfect, not too hard to draw but man that thing is in there, and it slides in so nice it's like the 14 had been waiting for this little beauty to come along! Sheath rattle? Ha! Not even the tiniest bit! You could sneak through a china cabinet with this thing on! The fit and finish are awesome, down the the tiniest features like a small drain hole on the back side. I was a little worried about going with a small tek lok but it fits my belt perfect. Super satisfied. Okay, thanks for reading.

Very nice. Godspeed appears to do some great work. That sheath looks flawless. I defy you to lose that knife it the wilderness. That's a whole lotta orange going on.
 
I plan on getting one for my 9 soon. I think my BK16 sheath is GTG now since I just saw another sheath mod that wasn't posted in the sheath mod thread that I stole. So I will pursue my dreams of building a supreme kydex piggyback rig. Or not. I'm definatley getting SOMETHING from him. Too many things flying around my head right now to decide.
 
I have one of his sheaths for my ESEE-3. Definitely a fantastic piece of work to say the least.

I can't recommend him enough. He made sure to ask lots of questions to make sure I was getting what I really wanted and from the quality I can't believe how reasonable pricing was. A BK-9 sheath by him would be awesome, I've seen some cool piggyback/pouch set ups on his site. Excited to see what you get from him!!
 
Noice! I like the orange...did it match the zytel shade of orange pretty well? I liked the pic of the orange sheath and orange zytel, in the pic they looked the exact same shade.

The sheath is a tad more vibrant in real life. Even Godspeed's pics don't QUITE do it justice, it really pops!! Imagine orange crayons mixed with Kraft mac and cheese powder (meant in a good way). So in real life, they don't quite match. But trust me, in real life, when you look at the orange scales in his snazzy orange sheath, you immediately want to break up the orangy (orange orgy). There is such a thing as too much orange. Should look good once I get some orange paracord to loop through those black scales though. My new Halloween knife!
 
Pretty bad ass, I would IMO, prefer the sheath to be more rounded and not as square but your the owner...not me.

That comes down to hardcore pure aesthetic preference on a knife this small as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't bother me even close to the slightest. If it was a concern of yours though and you were going through him I'm sure he would work with you (or suggest a taco sheath which is inherently more rounded and low profile). That's not what I was looking for though and am happy with the result!!
 
I do have one of his sheaths and it's freaking fantastic. :)

These new 14 sheaths are nice, though, so I may have to place another order.

Oh yes, the backside. My bad, I had him put a small tek lok on the back. I have it set for scout carry but it can go either way. I guess I should add that the back of the sheath isn't orange, it is black. But he did ask me if that was okay that the back is black because that's how he usually does them but offered to make it a different color if I'd like.
 
Nice looking sheath! Godspeed does good work. They are on the top of my list for sheaths.
 
nice! eli is making me a sheath for my bk-14 and lite machete as well. as for the orange on orange, kydex orange really pops and it makes the orange zytel kinda faded looking so i went with all-black on mine since i like the orange zytel. black zytel with orange sheath looks nice as well!

You're spot on, it does kind of wash out the orange zytel scales, but it looks nice with black. I am for sure gonna grab some orange paracord as a lanyard so there is at least some color on the knife itself (I always worry about dropping small knives and never finding them again in the woods).
 
Can't wait to see it. Weren't you talking before about a kydex sheath but with a nylon or leather backing/loop? Either way should be cool!

If I had a sewing machine (watching craigslist/garage sales), my idea was to go to the junkyard and get some black seatbelts and fold them over to make belt loops for a kydex pancake sheath. It's the strongest/most flexible option I can come up with. Much better than the stuff they use like whats on the stock BK2 sheath.
