Well, I realized there is no one to handle the knife department on Saturdays when I called. Do they have the Spyderco Calypso Jr in stock yet? (someone in the Spyderco forum said that they would have it in by this week) Thanks

I spoke with Mary Beth yesterday and she told me that they still had a few Calypso Jrs. in stock. You might want to try and call tomorrow....I read in another post that Mike prefers to work on Sundays.

Good luck.

Does anyone have a picture of this knife? I went to the Spyderco site and did not see it shown.

It's pictured on the front page of New Graham:

The website also says it's in stock, but I don't know if that's up to date or not. I got one almost the instant it became available on the site. Nice little knife. I got mine close to scary sharp, if not scary sharp. I can slice through Scott toilet paper (the thin cheap stuff) without tearing it, just clean long slices through multiple sheets. :)

We have several dozen Gray Calypso Jrs left..
Give me a call, or order online.
Regards Mike

Mike,

I'm not sure if your email mdye@newgraham.com is working. Actually I sent you several email in late November trying to get the black onyx tinker but there was no reply from you then.

Right now, I'm also looking for a grey calypso jr plain edge - I was wondering what would be the best method to furnish my address, payment etc. I can't really call you - time difference and costs. Is it possible to use USPS global priority small prepaid envelope ($5 only) if I order?

Please let me know, as I would really like a calypso jr plain edge. With some of the feedback that some calypsos had blade wobble etc, I would also appreciate if someone at New Graham could give it a once over before shipping it to me as returns and exchanges are expensive and inconvenient since I live on the other side of the globe.

Hoping to hear from you.

Thanks,

Thank you for the response. They are similar in certain ways. It's a great knife, this Calypso.

Just curious, but what are you guys seeing that makes it better (more desirable) than the Delica?

Mark

I've owned a Delica and three Calypso Jr's in my lifetime. The Calypso Jr is the better knife because it is more ergonomic, it's blade is flat ground for much better slicing, the blade shape is nicer, the scales on the handle offer better grip, and the construction feels tougher.
