I never thought I'd find one but this is now on its way to me.

Bura made 20" foxy folly, one of the early lightweight ones it's sub 1/4" at the bolster.

A masterpiece, for sure. The shape reminds me of this picture:

I was fondling my Rajkumar Foxy this afternoon. Measured it and it's nearly 21 inches but it sure feels nimble.

Actually I fondled the all. I was blocked out of my man cave for a couple weeks due to house issues.

I still think my favorite is the Trisuli Ghaule. Just a beauty to hold. Although I love that FF very much. I think it needs a running mate.

A little shorter one maybe for Sunday go to meeting ya know. Maybe a Bura will find me someday too.

That sir is a gem, Wow I keep coming back to look at it. Congrats man what a treasure.

That is a beauty, one of the best modern kukri I've seen.

The shape reminds me of this antique Brit Indian piece from my collection:

It's a classic shape as the famous illustration shows (great pic)

I take it HI doesn't make these anymore? Shame, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Oh wow, I'll have to keep a close eye out then!

Or can I order one as a custom piece?

A custom order is likely possible. To inquire email Auntie Yangdu at himimp@aol.com to inquire. She will be able to tell you if it is possible at this time, what costs will be and an approximate delivery time. Bear in mind that we are a tad behind on all orders. Be sure to think of what you would like for specifications and discuss them with her. Also bear in mind that once an order is submitted it cannot be changed.

The Trisuli Ghaule from HI also has a classic shape. Here's one of the 21-inchers:

I've always found that picture odd. The full face makes him look rather portly. But his fingers and belt, as well as the chest vs hips make him seem much slimmer than the two Nepalese fellows I work with.

Great mustache and outfit though. The head just doesn't seem to fit.

The artist who sketched the famous illustration from the Illustrated London News in 1908 may have used as a model one of the same seasoned veterans shown in the front row of this photo of "The Queen's Gurkha Orderly Officers, 1910."

I see. Great picture by the way. Both the far right and far left have a very full face, a very respect-worthy or outright frightening full face.

The officer on the far right though. He seems like a proud a practical individual that wants out of that photo as soon as possible, to command or fight. Hard to tell from a single picture, but his image does howl veteran.

As do the vast array of medals and bars pinned to his chest! This is a seasoned veteran of the highest order. Great pic.

I was noticing more that he has his face away from the camera, but eyes pointed at it, the only one with hands half clinched, his legs are pulled in further as if he's ready to move and he's in a crouching position.

And again, I might be 'walking on eggshells' for no reason, I respect all these men, but he almost seems alive in a photograph when compared to the rest. The posture is just so much different. Look at the swords' placements for instance. The top two have them in an iconic pose, center has it out of sight, far left has it casually resting against the leg, and far right has it not only controlled under his boot but resting against his arm with the hand ready.

That particular Gurkha I will remember more than the others for these reasons. Not that the rest aren't fantastic. It's just that he stands out impressively. In fact, I'm going to try to find more information on him.

the gurkhas are perhaps some of the most impressive warriors and warrior culture in human history, just on tenacity if nothing else. they have such a very long line of impressive feats of war.
