Well I'm going to try my hand at some new grip plates. Went over to the company yard a while back and some of our lineman had just returned from working on some switch cabinets. I started BSing with one of the guys I've known for years as the others backed up to a dumpster. I saw one of them lift the plate of micarta out of the back, and I said what are you going to do with that. "TRASH", I said, "uh can I have it?" So here it is. A 3' X 3' X 9/16" plate of red/maroon micarta:D. I like Super FAT grips and the regular Busse Mags are to small for me. I love his custom Fatties on the Ganza blades but I want big ones on my CG grades as well. So I am goind to start making them when I get back over to the plant, on my time off. That way I can use the vac system, band saws, belt sanders etc.

OK, here is the rest of what I have so I might as well add it. The long slinder pieces are 3ea at .075 X 12", and 13ea at .125 X 12". There is the brick of G-11 that Jeepnut22 was asking about, and then theres the seperation wedges. I have 16ea micarta that are around .5625 X 6", and 4ea G-11 wedges that are .5625 X 5.75". Put one of my MNRs and a GW down for size.

Best of luck to bro....most importantly, Have Fun!

Yep, gotta still the camera from the wife to take to the plant or bring the pieces back every week.

Wow, that is a nice piece of free micarta  Does he have anymore that he wants to throw away? :D

Sweet score! Sounds like several "Santa" blades are in the works.

Actually, I may be able to get more in time. I also have a brick of G-11(that's right, G-11 not G-10) that was left over from one of our generator overhauls last summer. It's 2" X 2-3/4" X 9-1/8", pale green.

That should be more than enough for Ban's Keebler Elf collector series:thumbup:

Post a pic of that G-11!!

Also, don't forget more progress pics on the handles!!

That's a serious chunk of micarta. I'm picturing wandering through RussMo's house in like 5 months...micarta grips attached to toothbrushes, hairburshes, forks, maybe some attached to the sliding glass door handle, the fridge, etc.
