So I finally received the 5.1 and had the chance to use it some.
It is one of the sharpest fixed blades out of he box. The grinding is perfect and I don't know the exact thickness behind the edge but it feels ideal.
The new peened finish is very nice looking. I prefer it to the old finish.
The new handles are perfect for me. The palm swell and the handle thickness makes it easy on the hand and effortless to use.

Awesome and jealous. I also ordered orange g10 and black kydex. No bow drill divot for me though. Congrats!
 
So cool, Rodger! Thanks for taking the time to make a video!!! I've been waiting for us to get our knives and to start the pics and videos and reviews. I'm glad you love yours so much, but I'm not surprised!
 
Nice quick little once over. Kind of kicking myself for not ordering one at least on the presale. I really love my old one.
 
I have had mine a little over a month, the new finish and fit quality are top notch!
I honestly prefer the old handle size better they fit my hand better, but the contouring in the new model is very comfy.
 
It looks great!!! Thanks for sharing! Do you have an original 5.1? I'd be curious to know what the weight difference is.

I no longer have my 5.1 but it weighed in at 11.2 oz, my new one weighs 11.3 oz, both had canvas micarta scales and I may have weighed that first one with a lanyard attached... eitherway, it's not much difference.
