Got my new Gunting yesterday and I've been too busy playing with it to post
A totally awesome knife, it may actually give my favorite Military a run for the position of #1 Spydie in the carry rotation. Anybody who has not considered a Gunting because of its MBC heritage should look again. It is an incredibly well built and comfortable utility knife. The Compression Lock is awesome, locks up tighter than any liner lock MT I own and almost as tight as my Sebenzas with a much slicker action than the Sebbies.
The reason I'm posting is I'm wondering if anyone else is noticing that Spyderco QC seems to be getting even better? I've owned 25-30 Micarta and G-10 Spydies and all have been excellent quality (fit and finish, walk and talk, good grinds, good factory edge) for the money, it seems my last 2 (a 2001 plain CPM Millie and the 2001 plain Gunting) have been excellent quality period
I wonder if something has changed in Golden? Whatever it is, certain other tactical folder makers (we all know who I mean) could certainly learn a lot from Sal when it comes to making sure your product is as close to perfect as possible when it leaves the factory.
