Hi, new guy here. I have wanted a Busse for a while now, looked at several and finally placed an order for a TGLB in Tanker Grey and Black Canvas last night. This knife will be used, no safe queen here. Now the wait and search for a sheath begins. I am second guessing myself on if I should have gone with a CF instead of the coated Tanker Grey. I like the looks of both.

For those who have ordered the TGLB, how long was your wait?

I have learned a lot by searching the forum. Helped being able to see all the knifes.

Glad to be here.

Welcome to the madness! I don't own a TGLB but several people do on here and they will be along shortly to answer all your questions. I just wanted to welcome you! Be sure to post some pics of your blade when it comes in.

I like the CF better than the coated ones myself.

Welcome to Blade Forums !

My TGLB was initially Tanker grey but I sent it in and had a Comp finish put on it. I like the CF a little better but Tanker is great too and is probably more rust resistant.

The wait on mine was about 6 weeks (4 when I sent it in for the Comp finish).

My TGLB is tanker gray and black G-10, I am also in search of a sheath. My order was about 9 weeks. Great knife you will love it. Welcome to the madness !!!! I am already considering a second TGLB !

I'm a newb too. I've been obsessed for a while but didn't register here on bf until December. I ordered a TGLB in CF with black g10 on January 22nd and I still don't have it yet... I can't wait I'm dieing to get it!!

Thanks for the welcome guys. I am calling Busse tomorrow and see if I can change my order to CF!

Something I was wondering, If your knife was originally coated, and then you send it in to get the CF, does it come back as shinny as if you had ordered CF from the beginning? I have seen some members on here strip the finish themselves, and it leaves little machines marks visible,..? not a fan of this. But if it looks just as good, after a while I might send my in too..

The machine marks are part of the CF. CF is a blade that has been machined and sharpened and skips the coating proces. That being said I'd imagine the "shinnyness" depends on the blade. My guess is sending it in to have the coating removed might make it duller from the stripping process. Although maybe I'm wrong all together and maybe they will shine it up after stripping it just so it's not super dull... Maybe someone can post pics of both examples? :)

I ordered a tanker and black canvas as my first TGLB as well. Liked it so much I also ordered a comp finish with black/tan G10. Comp looks nice, if you ordered yours recently and change your mind you could probably call and ask for comp finish. My first took 6 weeks but it varies depending on how busy they are. You made a great choice though, Busse makes some of the best knives out there!

Here is mine with black canvas and comp finish. You can still see machine lines but I think it looks great.

Worst case you can strip the tanker grey coating off and sand off anything that's stubborn. Some stripped blades have a nice nasty quality to them, and the canvas micarta works well with that.

Welcome to the family; make sure to post some pictures of your TGLB when you get it. My wait was about 8 weeks.

Is the comp finish how the blade is prepped to take a coating? I did not see the finish as an option on the Busse website.

Yes it does come back as if it had originally had a Comp finish.

I got a CF finish with black and tan G10. My wait was about 6 weeks. This week is number 13 on the wait for my MNFSH.

I just got off the phone with Lexi. Changed my order to CF with black canvas micarta handles. Thanks for the pics! Lexi has got to be one of the nicest CS people I have ever talked to. She said about 4 to 6 weeks til it's shipped.

While I what I just bought a Team Gemini m/o from a forum member last night, sending the funds out today. I have owned some great knives but never a Busse. I can't wait to use them!
