Hey Folks!

I didn't see an obvious place to post a "Hi I'm the new guy" message - so I hope here is ok. so... Hi I'm the new guy!

I recently took a multi-day class and made my first knife! It was a lot of fun, and even though the knife isn't perfect - I learned A LOT! I even got to meet a Forged in Fire Champ as he was the guest instructor.

Here's my first Knife (made in that class):

I'm in the Indianapolis area.
There are plenty of great follow-up classes in my area, but my biggest concern is finding a place to actually forge things on my own. I live on a suburban cul-de-sac and the neighbors & Housing Association wouldn't like me banging on metal in my driveway. :/

I've been searching for shared workshop spaces, or clubs, or something but to no avail. There are a few "maker spaces" but none that would support forging sadly.

How do any of you with small properties and lots of neighbors do it?

Anyone in Indy (or a bit north) have any creative ideas I should look into?

welcome. very well done on your first. what steel did ya use, a 10xx type carbon?

Thanks so much!
It was spring steel of some sort. They gave us one loop from what must have been a larger spring.
cool. maybe 5160.......regardless great job. looking forward to seeing your next creation.
