Hello everyone, I joined here back in 2009 and this is the first thread I’ve started and I think my third post overall. A little about me: I’m a retired cop (early retired), 42 years old, living on the South Carolina coast with my wife and two daughters. Been a knife and gun guy my entire life. I’m a small fixed blade lover and I carry a folder and fixed blade daily. ESSE, Buck and Becker are my favorites, and the occasional Spyderco.

So here comes the questions…
I have a tradition with my daughters, every birthday and Christmas I get them each a knife. So far it’s only been folders, but I’m planning to get them each a fixed blade for one of those occasions this year. I normally get them knives in colors they like, engraved, etc. My oldest likes pink, so she’ll probably get a pink Izula with her initials engraved. My youngest loves yellow, I’ve gotten her several Spyderco Salts in yellow. Im having a little trouble finding a good yellow fixed blade. I would love to find her a yellow Izula or figure out how to get one coated in yellow or even just engraved in yellow. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for something similar?

My last question, does anyone know where I can find a new LT Wright patriot of Frontier First? I can’t seem to track one down anywhere right now. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

I don't know of any yellow fixed blades, how about a yellow kydex sheath and yellow cord wrap handle? I have rit dyed darker colors many times with great success, perhaps a set of micarta scales roughed up with a fine sand paper and then rit dyed yellow would be an option as well.

Good luck👍

That could work as well, I honestly hadn’t thought of that. I appreciate the idea, I think I’ll experiment with with some micarta and see what I can come up with. If not, I may just go for a yellow wrap. Thanks again!

No sir, I didn’t. I didn’t think about calling him direct, I had just been looking on his site and all the other knife dealers I could think of. I appreciate it, I may do just that.

I'd contact one of the makers on here, David Mary, Phillip Patton and Joe at Black Rock Forge come to mind. There is bright yellow G10 available, I bet one of those could make you a great knife for you daughter. I've gotten customs from all three and they do a great job.

For an inexpensive option, Rough Rider makes a yellow handled hunting-style fixed-blade. The model number is RR1034.

I've never owned or even handled one, so this is not a recommendation, just a mention.
