Well, as you read in the title, what the hell is it?
I found this knife on the middle of the highway (yea its probably a murder weapon)
I want to say its slimier to a buck 110, but
The blade says "bg-42"
And its a buck custom usa, if you flip it around it says designers choice (again, no distinct model number)
my father has a buck 110 50th anniversary edition, its nearly the same but key diffrences are, mine has a sarreded blade, no rivits in the grip, mine has finger groves, different texture on grip, and mine has a diffrent logo with designer choice on the back of the blade, his does not
So, what is it?

Could we get some pictures of the entire knife and close ups on the blade marking. I'm thinking maybe an older Buck custom shop knife but other more knowledgeable members can say more. BG42 was before I got into knives.

Buck 110 customs can be ordered with and without rivets, finger grooves, different handle materials, and blade steels. BG42 was one of the previous options, right now s30v is their premium option along with sprint runs of various other steels.

Ok I see you loaded up more pictures as I was posting. It is a Buck custom shop knife in BG42 steel, one of their previous premium steel offerings. It's a good knife, I guess in the past they had a serrated edge option. You can contact Buck and see if they will give it a spa treatment or just use it as is.

Sure thing, ill get some better pictures tomorrow, also thats nice to know, but ive never seen a saraded edge before on one, only this one

I edited in more info into my first post while you were replying.

Also I just googled serrated Buck 110 and they appear to have made 110s with those serrations at some point.

Yea, when i went on to bucks website they still offer them in 420hc steel, saraded
I can almost make the exact one on there website (blue wood, saraded 420hc, finnger grooves)
Almost the same thing

i wounder how much a knife spa treatment is? (Im a complete newbie on knifes by the way, this is my first real knife, my other knife i own is a 4$ walamrt special)
Thanks for the help!

Also, any tips on polishing the brass (it has a dull finish on it, it feels like a sticky note)

Best deal in the business. You pay to ship it there. Then they ship it back free. I wait til I have at least 3 to save on shipping. They come back looking new.

Ill ship it over just to see how good of a job they do.
This is my first real knife,

Also, how accurate are the wait times?
2 months seems like a long time
