Ive been reading these forums for a long time and I finally decided to to introduce myself. Anyway I've loved knives for as long as I can remember, I've carried a knife on my person for many years, and find them to be incredibly valuable tools in everyday life. In fact I feel absolutely naked and wrong without my trusty knife in my pocket, It's the first thing in my pocket when I get ready for the day and the last thing out of my pocket when I'm going to bed. Anyway this is a great place, the knowledge and community here are outstanding and I'm looking forward to a great time here at BF

I've been carrying a Benchmade 555HG Mini Grip Plain Edge in Blue Scales recently. Its one heck of a knife and I love it but I'm having a VERY hard time resisting buying a Benchmade Mini Bone Collector

Who am I kidding I know I can't fight the urge, I'll probably order one tomorrow when I get paid! :D

Good choice. I have a GRN/BLK one in my pocket right now. To me, the BCs fill in all the little places where the mini-Grips were "almost" what I wanted. The mini-Gs are just a hair too small to be comfortable for me and while I like 154CM about as much as I do VG10, D2 is as much a favorite folder steel for me as S30V. I also prefer the heavier weight and thicker blades of the BCs.

Welcome to BF.

Welcome, Andy. Say good bye to your wallet and get to know your local postman well so he can arrange a hide for your knife purchases so the wife doesn't go ballistic.

Heh. I'm quite well acquainted with my mail lady. MT.O Isn't a cheap place to go either :D And as far as my girlfriend going ballistic :jerkit: I work hard for my money and spend it as I see fit. Shes a pro at the eye-roll and sigh technique though... :p

I've been through a ton of knives, and my two favorites (not including multi tools, i'm a sucker for those...) are my JK Seraphim (custom fixed blade) and Spyderco Caly 3 in ZDP-189 and carbon fiber. If i were to get a grippy in a plain edge i think i would love it (maybe the cabelas edition) but i bought a partially serrated because it's all they had and i wanted to see what all the hype was about. It has it's place in my collection, just not as an EDC. It sees use though.

Cutlery Shoppe is a decent place to shop. I've bought one from them, and a SAK from another place, i don't remember where. My two most recent purchases were a Victorinox Swisschamp with the ruby scales (2nd to newest version, it still has the longer phillips and gray magnifying glass). I think that version is the best because the magnifying GLASS is that, glass. Not plastic. It's not a magnifying plastic victorinox, fix it! And the caly3.
