New Guy Introduction

What's up guys??!!! Lovin' the forums, been cruisin around for a couple weeks now and learning a lot. Haven't posted 'till now cause I've been too busy reading and looking at all the pictures of the awesome blades around here!!! About me: Raised in Louisiana, love guns & knives, hunting and the outdoors. My dad gave me my first knife when I was around 10 (I think), and it's been a disease ever since!!! Married, 2 kids, work heavy industrial construction. I'd say my two favorite knife companies are Benchmade and Spyderco. I also have Kershaw, Case, SOG and Cold Steel knives though, just to name a few. I'm more of a "user" than a collector, though I do a bit of both. Most of my knives get rotated into my EDC though, sooner or later. My outdoor/wilderness/camp knives don't get used as much as they should because I'm always working, but I try to use them as much as possible.

Anyway, that's a quick "about me" intro, glad I found this forum and hope to make some great friends here!!!

Thanks coli, glad to meet ya!!! I learn something new every time I visit the forum!!! Researching rare/discontinued Benchmade knives is what led me here, and I've learned a LOT in my short time here. Glad to be a part of the forum here, and hope to be around for quite a while!!!

Thanks for the welcome Evan, glad to meet ya!!! I love using my knives, after all, that's what they are meant for, right??? Maybe if I ever got some really "high end" expensive knives I'd not use them, but other than that, they all get used!!!

Welcome. I am fairly new as well. I've browsed the forums for a long time, then finally joined. Since joining I've bought 5 folders and 4 fixed blades. Just bought the fourth fixed blade this morning on the forum.

I use my knives as well, for everything from the mundane to the cruel and unusual.

Nice to meet ya K.O.D., thanks for the welcome!!! My knives see "mundane" use more than anything, but they occasionally get "tortured" when needed. I can completely understand buying a LOT of knives here, I've seen some GREAT examples of knives for sale, and several that I want to buy, but I have to control myself, lol!!! I've already got quite a large "wishlist" on another website, and this forum has "added fuel to the fire"!!! I'll be in the market here soon though!!!

Actually, where I live in La, I'm not "near" anything, though I did make a trip to Smith & Sons a couple of days ago. They are featured here in the dealer section, and I ended up getting a Benchmade Contego and a Spyderco Endura FFG. I saw several of their custom blades I'd like to have, but I'll have to pick one up on another trip. Not sure where Knifeworks is located, but I'd be willing to make a trip there. Thanks for the welcome!!!
