Been lurking for a couple days, time to say Hi to everyone. wizrd here, from dead center in the oppresive Republik of NY state. Sharp knives are my 'crack', and well-stocked dealers & knifemakers are where I get my 'fix'. Collect some knives, not specializing, just things I personally like. I guess somewhere's along the line I reached the point of being a collector, my wife keep's saying, " What the hell are all these knives doing here?" I've made a dozen or so straight knives from blades & materials purchased from various suppliers.
Trying to learn to make decent straight knife sheaths, to the point now where people don't laugh at 'em.
Looking forward to learning to make my own blades, been doing the bookwork so far. Retired firefighter, politically active, conservative carnivore, NRA lifer, who likes sharp knives & loud guns, all shooting disciplines, reloading, motorcycling (not the Hell's Angel type), hunting & fishing & bluegrass music. My time here will be spent mostly asking dumb questions and studying at the feet of the Masters.
