Hi, new guy here that has always had a thing for Buck 110's, bought my first one over 40 years ago, unfortunately I have no idea what happened to it, maybe packed away in a box somewhere .
Couple weeks ago saw one of the 50 year anniversary 110's on E-bay for a very reasonable price, got it and was impressed that the Buck 110 still appears to be a quality piece. Made me want to find an older one.
The other day a 2 dot newly listed on E-bay with a very reasonable buy it now, seller stated was just cleaned and sharpened and it looked real good, did the buy it now and it showed up today. Very happy with it, clean, tight and sharp with no rounded edges, nicely worn case.
Getting these 2 has made me want to order one thru the custom shop which brings up a question, is there much of a difference between the Elk horn and the Stag? I think those 2 are my preference, both look good to me. Seems to be that the Stag is the preferred material. Also has anyone done one with the Sheep horn, that looks kind of neat also.
Thanks for any input, couple of pics of the 2 latest.

Welcome to the Buck forum!

I think I know who sold you the 110. ;)

I really like Sambar stag for handles, but I also really like ram's horn.
I have lots of Sambar stag 110's, but only a few with ram's horn though.
Guess I need a couple more with ram's horn. :)

Welcome to the forum Augie.

Elk usually doesn't have as much definition as Sambar. Least the ones I have.

Check the sticky up above with the pics. Should find both types as well as ram.

Thanks for the welcome, Stumps, pretty well figured where it came from, you did a nice refresh on it, will be happy to put it to use.
Went and ordered a custom, went with the Rams horn with brass and pins and a polished blade, should be nice.
