There is another thread running where people are posting if they joined BF in Oct. 98. I found it interesting to read their posts on the subject.

I ran across this quote in the tread:

Been registered since mid oct. 98, was here when we saw the big migration from Knifeforums, recdotknives.com before that.

It seems that there is a lot of history about the various forums that I don't know about.

I have enjoyed participating in BF very much. It would be neat to know a little more about its origin.

Mike Turber ex-owner of BladeForums got tired of KnifeForums and opened up his own web, this here site. Before that he was participating heavily at the Benchmade Forums. Mike Turber around the same time as he developed BladeForums he also got into being a knife distributor. Since all this, he has now sold Bladeforums to Kevin AKA Spark. There was alot of bad feelings with forum members when this was all transpiring. Some stayed at KnifeForums.com out of loyalty, while many left KnifeForums to be with Mike here at Bladeforums. Some are members of both forums still today.

This is what I know or understand to be since I have been around since the beginning and even before Mike, just I have been a lurker, because I enjoy knives a lot and loved reading about them is all!

Um ... there was a big fight at www.knifeforums.com which resulted in a split and Spark & Mike Turber started this website. For a long time whenever a newbie would ask about it (at either website or on any of the other knife forums) people would answer with their differing views of what happened and what the fight was all about and it would break out all over again -- BUT ... I think that's finally all over with and it won't break out again this time. Keeping my fingers crossed....

Most of us knife knuts continued to go to both websites and other forums, too, through all the fighting, and still do. Earl Stewart, who owned Knifeforums at the time, is no longer active on the knife forums, and James Nowka, the current owner, had nothing to do with any of it; he wasn't active on the forums back then. There is no reason to fight now if there ever was....

Grandpa Troll, in seeing your last couple of posts, my opinion of you has changed. I might be wrong, but I don't think you are really the troll I first thought you to be. There is something more than meets the eye here. You probably don't give a darn what I think, but there it is anyway.
