Just found this forum. Starting to build a bit of a knife collection, figuring out what I like to carry. I prefer US made folding knives (production type).

So far I have these manufacturers making folders domestically:
Spyderco
Benchmade
Kershaw/ZT
Lone Wolf
Bear and Sons
Buck
Case
Strider
Emerson
Microtech (?)
CRK

Any I'm missing. I fully realize there are a lot of nice knives made in Japan and other places, just like the idea of domestic product. I'm at a point where I'm definitely in the more "budget" side of knives, but appreciate the high end items made domestically.

A lot of the spydercos are not made in the US. They are a US company though...
Ditto Benchmade, Buck, and others.

Queen/Schatt and Morgan
Ontario (related to Queen)
Canal Street Cutlery
Great Eastern Cutlery
Northwoods
Bark River
KaBar

If I read the question correctly, chilly460 is looking for companies who make at least some of their knives in the US. That would make his and Bob's lists correct.

I just bought 3 knives on Collectorknives.net. I bought a Boker Whittler, a Robeson 2 blade folder (wanted a Robeson bad), and a Kissing Crane Trapper. Ok, some some are not American made. You will spend some time on this site perusing the American makers, the prices seem relatively good, and the shipping cost is much lower than Eekpay auctions! There are many good quality makers on this site. I still fish in the bay though as well. I have a Kabar folder coming from them. I am infected with Bladitis, and it is this web site's fault. I think this might bring my addiction/collection to around 20 folders now. BTW nothing stays in the box!

I know its a multi, but Leatherman makes most of there stuff here at home.

Not folders, but:
Busse
Swamp Rat
RAT
Ontario
