Hi all, first post !!

I am considring picking up a BM943, but want advice regarding the blade coating and the partials serrations, from people who have much more experience.

1. I am leaning to a plain blade for the reasons that the serrations seem too short to be of much use. The serrated portion is only about ~ 1.5 inches long (4 inch blade). Does anyone else lean toward a plain blade for this reason?

2. I am leaning to the non-coated blade (satin, and not black coating). On a few used knives I have seen the black coating wears off or scratches and starts to look ratty. Does anyone else lean toward the satin, non-coated blade for this reason?

Thanks for any input/advice on these issues.

Yes. (sharp plain edge will perform equally well, is easier to sharpen, looks better and full length of the blade gives you better cutting capability)
Yes. (anyway 94x utilizes 154CM stainless steel, so there is no need of coating)
