Hey guys new guy here,

I am just getting into the wonderful world of knife collecting and starting out with the cheaper but still quality knives(ie, leek, oso sweet, skyline, buck vantage etc etc)

The question I have is the blade of my skyline(just infront of the belly) contacts the backspacer and gradually dulls my knife. There is also a obvious cut mark in the backspacer. Is this common for these? Is there an easy fix?

Thanks

That's not normal. Definitely give Kershaw customer service a call. I'm sure they'll take care of you by repairing or replacing the knife.

Is the cut deep? The backspacer could've been made slightly thick, or perhaps the blade wasn't sharpened enough from the factory. A sharpening should fix the problem :)

The only area that should have contact is the small Detent (Red arrow). There may be some sort of mis-alignment if the lade is not centered.

You have two ways you can fix it. Send it to Kershaw and let them fix it (they will) or take it apart and groove out the back spacer more so the blade does not hit it.

I am going to try this tonight. If I can't take enough off to get it to not hit I will contact kershaw cs
