New guy to the forum

Hey guys,

I did not see a thread for new members and I wanted to say hi as a new guy. I am a Physical education teacher in Oregon, and I love making knifes as a hobby. I started last year so I am very new to the process. I definitely have a to learn and hope I can get some tips from the forum. Cheers!

Is that ironwood in the first few knives pictured?

A local guy cut me a piece of railroad for an anvil and gave me a box of random wood. I have no idea what the wood is unfortunately.
