Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this site. My name is Adam, 43 in PA. I collected as a kid, sold off what I had and just returning to knives now. My focus has been collecting Smith and Wessons, so I feel I'm returning to my youth in knives again. Just bought 2 new ones. Now let me just state budget is tight, I'm a schoolteacher with kids so I'm careful with both my Smith hobby and rediscovered knife hobby. I was looking for 2 EDC knives that would be ok quality wise and not break the budget. I went with a Buck nobleman with the faux carbon fiber handle and a Kershaw Blur 1670BLK. Picked up both on ebay new. Neither have arrived yet. Both have the handle shape I prefer. I like a thin handle, so my only concern with the blur is the thickness of the handle. If I decide it is too thick can you point me in the direction of a similar style blade and thin handle with a similar price point? Very happy to have found this site and I hope to gather a similar knowledge base that I have picked up on the Smith forum.

Welcome to BFC! Lots of good people here. Enjoy!

Hey Adam, I don't think you will find that the Blur is too thick for either the hand or the pocket. I was given one a while back, and have subsequently added 5 more to the arsenal. So maybe give it a shot before moving on. One thing with the Blur - you flick it open by pressing the thumb stud parallel to the scales, instead of trying to swing the blade out in an arc like you might with other knives. It will make sense when you get it.

I too have gone from guns to knives, with flashlight and multitools thrown in too. They all go together. I've just been patrolling the interweb for info on a S&W scandium 4.25" 1911, and my primary carry gun is a S&W 442. Welcome to BF, and rock on. If you decide to add more knives beyond the Blur, which you almost certainly will, there is plenty here to keep you busy.
