Howdy,

New guy here and bought my first Busse (Game Warden) this July. I just bought a HOGFSH yesterday. I 'm not too sure of some of the acronyms and have a couple questions about the new knife and Busse knives in general. So here we go (numbered for answering convenience)...

1) Can anyone tell me what "Heavy Ordnance Grade" means in relation to any of the other Fusion Steel Hearts?

2) When were these released and are they discontinued?

3) Are the snakeskin handles so rare I souldn't send the knife to the CS to have either wood or solid black micarta installed (I want to have the handles match the grips on a recently acquired Freedom Arms 83 and I'm thinking about custom grips for this as well)? I REALLY like the looks of the hand finished panels I've seen here.

4) So far I really like my GW. I don't have the HOGFSH yet. How do you HOGFSH owners like your's?

Anyways....Thanks in advance for any help and I'm sure I'll have more as these get answered!!!

All the best to everyone here and have a Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,

Mike

ps: you guys are fast...I deleted my #5 question because I found it in the FAQ's, but the post was only up for about 3 minutes! Thanks for the answers so far!!!

1 and 5 from the appendix of http://www.bussecollector.com/appendix/

HOG Heavy Ordnance Grade. denotes 5/16" blade thickness, and a full flat grind rather then saber grind. May also denote one who has a propensity for buying/collecting Busses, or an unhealthy love thereof.

2 released around 2004.Not discontinued.still released during Ganzaa's,blade and Knob creek.

3 snakeskin is no longer available and very desirable on a FSH,if you dont like the snakeskin scales please send them to me.

4 you will love the HOGFSH if you dont refer to #3.

Mr. Busse and ALL,

Thanks for the welcome guys! If I decide to swap and sell grips...I'll start with you guys first!

Thanks again and......

Can someone explain what makes a Fusion model different from a non-Fusion?

All the Best,

Mike

I'll buy the snakeskin from you if you ever decide to sell them. Or knock some cash off that sheath we spoke of. Would like to put them on my FBMLE.

Some like them and some don't. There were different patterns over the years. I think the most desired ones are on the old SJ's and BA3'S.
