Hey guys, new guy here. I’ve never been “a knife guy”, but I believe I’m getting there. I’ve always had $30 knives before with the exception of a Benchmade auto I bought about 15 years ago. I carried it for many years, and broke the tip. Sent it to Benchmade and they sharpened it back up to a tip for me. Since then I’ve carried cheap knives. A few months ago I was on YouTube and the Spyderco pm2 caught my eye. I bought one. Then a Mantix 2 lw. Then a Benchmade 940-2. Yep, I think it’s started.

Welcome. Sounds like you are already one of us! All those blades are great and should last you many years. The question is what do you have your eye on next?

Spyderco...it doe sn't get any better than that...my favorite brand..
Your PM 2 is a fine knife and is the favorite of many...
That said, we all have our favorites and fortunately, there are many nice knives out there.
Glad you're here...

Thanks for the welcome guys. I believe the Para 3 is next. Also I’m really digging the new version of the Bailout. Can’t believe how deep I got so quick!! Been reading on here a lot and watching videos trying to learn as much as I can about the different steels. And eventually I’ll have to sharpen these so that’s something else I’ll have to learn.

Don't forget about customization!

Welcome to BFC W wareagle75 , don't expect anyone here to help you climb out of the rabbit hole you've started going down. Don't even think about asking which knife to choose if you're trying to decide between two because the answer will always be buy both :D.
Most importantly, have fun, enjoy the hunt for the next one and post pics of the knives you have and are getting. No one will ever complain that this place has too many pics of knives. :p

Hi W wareagle75 , welcome to Blade Forums. We have a name for what you’ve done. We call it “a good start”!

There’s lots of good, knowledgeable people here who’ll help you spend your money. Resistance is futile.

Roll Tide!

Welcome!! I’ve read all the previous posts and these folks can’t be any closer to the truth. LOL. Addicted to say the least here as well. I bet we can all say we’ve had two or so in the mail and already looking for that next one or two or three or, you know what I mean. LOL. Hey. YOLO so do what makes you feel happy and good. Buy yourself a nice knife collection!! Keep us posted!!

Yep I strayed over to the watch game for a bit and grabbed a g shock rangeman and the beast- g shock mudmaster gwg-1000!! I came back to the knife world.

Welcome to the forum. It sure happens quick, going from a single "cheap" knife to several higher priced knives. When it comes to sharpening you'll get varying opinions, but one recommendation will be consistent - don't wait for them to dull to bring the edge back. You'd do well enough to start with a Spyderco sharpmaker for touch ups on your knives in lieu of full sharpening after letting them get dull...my .02 anyway.

BTW, love your screen name, '06 Chem Eng alum here.

Hohoooo are YOU in the wrong place for an intervention! Welcome, if you're falling down the Knives rabbit-hole, Bladeforums is absolutely the place for you!! Mind the step, the first few are doozies!

Thanks guys! Here’s what I got so far. The bottom is the auto I’ve had about 15 years. The top 3 I just got in the last couple months. I’m still trying to figure out the pic posting thing. I got it to work earlier in the pic texting thread. Here’s a link until I figure it out.
