Hello. Lately I have enjoyed carrying and using an opinel 9 carbon so I decided to pick up a couple more because their price point. I figured I would try out the inox blades with premium wood handles. I ordered an olive and bubinga No8. Both came in normal Opinel packaging and the wood looks great but it doesn't say Opinel on the handle is that normal? It does say Opinel Inox on the blade. The blade on the bubinga is high polished stainless. I just wanted to make sure they weren't counterfeit. Any inside or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

I highly doubt its profitable to counterfeit a $14 knife. Looking at the manufacturers website it appears the premium handled knives do not have the "Opinel" logo burned into them. It would appear normal.

Thanks. I checked that as well and thought I was ok then I google image searched it and some had the logo and others didn't. I figured as much on the profit of faking a cheap knife. Thank you for your comment and having similar thoughts as I did :)

Of course I doubt that too but I've seen fake $2 tooth brushes.
It's probably more about the margin than the amount per item.
If they could make an opinel for a dollar and sell it for 14 I guess they would.
