Hey guys I am new here. I have been a buck lover all my life and have a small collection of users. Well recently I did a little trading and grew my collection a fair bit. I picked up two collectors and a user. Here they are.
First up is a model 110 made in 1983 it has never been used or resharpened. It came with the box, sheath, and all the paperwork including wax paper wrap and even the original receipt.

Next is a pre 1980 lady buck. It too has never been used or resharpened. It has the original note from buck and the green see warranty card. It also has the box and felt case.

Finally the ugly duckling. This 118 has been abused but, is salvageable. The handle has been removed and replaced with this poorly crafted monstrosity. It shows numerous wear marks. However, buck tells me they will replace the handle for 25 bucks + shipping so I am cool with that. This knife was made between 72-86.

Anyway glad to be aboard and just wanted to share.

Welcome to the Buck Forum. Great guys and gals here. Lots of knowledge and lots of fun. Nice knives by the way.

I think I would leave that 118 as is. It is unique. A new handle would be like all the rest of them. With that one you can play with shaping the wood as you wish. Some 1000 grit sandpaper will clean that blade right up.
Or even come up with your own handle material.

Jake, Welcome. A nice collection you have. Your 118, if it has a 3 line stamp could be further narrowed down. DM

Three line stamp:
Buck
118
U.S.A.

Two line stamp
Buck
U.S.A

One line stamp
Buck

The three line stamp carries the time mark behind the product number. The date codes are listed in a sticky above.

It is hard to see what kind of stamp your 118 has. My guess: it is a three line stamp inverted. Inverted means the stamp is to read with the tip down. This direction was only used in roundabout 1972. Since then the three line stamp is to be read tip up.

Have fun with the Buck forum.

Haebbie
