New guy with new knives

Howdy everyone. I have bought two knives in the last month. One is an SOG Aegis. I have never owned an assisted opener before and I am really pleased with the operation and looks of the knife. The other knife is a Cold Steel Trail Master with the San Mai steel blade. I have several large bowie knives but none are of the quality of the Trail Master.

I enjoy reading everyones comments. I think that I am going to like this site a lot. I haven,t much knowlege to offer but I will jump in from time to time and contribute what I can.
 
Welcome to bladeforums. Start setting aside extra cash now because you'll wind up buying many more knives as you continue to frequent this site :-D You'll also start spending more $$$ on each knife as you want higher and higher quality.

The Aegis was one of the first knives I bought after getting back into collecting again. Nutnancy's review sold it to me.

I took the clip off and bent the crap out of it so it wouldn't tear my jeans so much when I took the knife out. I also superglued the safety in the "off" position so it would never accidentally activate and keep my knife from deploying.

The Aegis is an awesome design. However, as you look on these forums more you will see that you can buy many knives for the same price with better steel and no blade play.
 
Welcome to the forums. Get ready to spend alot of money in the exchange and expect your usual "maximum price limit spending" on knives to increase quickly and severely lol. Before the forums I never spent over $100 on a single knife, after a few weeks I bought a $200 knife haha.
