New to the forum so I apologize in advance if I step on any toes.
Unfortunate that Gerber doesn't have a presence on the Manufacturer's Forum so I'm posting in the General Discussion side. I know there are better out there but I've had a soft spot in my head for Gerber since I carried one of their Mark I's on all three of my trips to the Southeast Asia War Games from 65 to 72. The knife served me well.
Have a Gerber Evo that needs some tuning on pivot tightness and the liner lock. Not rocket science and I feel perfectly capable of doing it myself except to one small problem.
Does anyone know what the blade pivot screw head is on the belt clip side of the knife. The front side is a Torx but the belt clip side looks like something different that I can't identify. I want to use the correct fastener bit so I don't chew up the screw head.
Thanks for any information.

No idea. Maybe an email to Gerber might get ya an answer. They've been receptive to my inquiries in the past on various technical questions. Plus I got ya, a bump back to the top in case an owner of said knife shows up. Welcome btw.

I have the Evo Jr and it is all Torx. There may to dirt, gunk, etc in there they cleaning it out these things are known to collect junk in there sometimes. Try fitting in a torx anyway and see if it fits and moves the gunk out of the way if that is the problem, just don't brute force it if it turns out not to be a torx or correct size. And post up a pic so we can look at it. And lastly this type of thing belongs in the Maintence sub-forum for next time, you typically get answers quicker there for these types of questions anyway.

Mine was so tight I stripped both sides out using good quality bits. I am sure there is a ton of loc-tite in there, but now I may never know. In the future, if you like the evo give the crkt m16 series a try, much better fit and finish.

Thanks for the replies and ideas. Turns out I live about 15 minutes away from both Gerber and CRKT so I stopped by Gerber yesterday afternoon. Explained to the young woman at the reception desk what my problem was and asked if she could find out what the head type was and let her listen to the squeak. She said she didn't have any way to check on the head type but took the knife in for "warranty repair". Should get it back in about 10 days. Not the ideal solution but what the heck.
When I get it back I'll take some photos of the screw head and post them. The rear screw head is definitely not at standard Torx and it wasn't gummed up with debris. It's still got me curious.
Thanks again for the help.
