I resently purchased my first (of many, i'm sure) Khukuri from Uncle Bill just last week. I opted for the BirGorkha Villager model because i USE my knive quite heavily when i go camping. Plus, I'm still just a poor college kid so the more expensive Khuks are going to have to wait until next year when i hit th "real world". I'm sorry to say it, but i've been a long time lurker in this forum and have just now gotten the nerve to actually converse with all of you.
Ok, here's my question:
the villager model i just recieved from Uncle Bill has a line or a crack or something on the spine that starts about 1/2 inch from the bolster, runs about 1/4 of an inch along the spines edge, then cuts at an angle and runs another 3/8" or so to the center of the spine. Is this something i should worry about?? I'm one of those guys that if i even have a doubt that my knife might not hold up i lose sleep at night. What can you all tell me about this line? I don't in anyway fault my khuk. Uncle Bill was right when he said it was built to last 100 years. i'm just curious.
thanx fellas!
