Hi all,

Long story short my girlfriends dad recently passed away. He was also a hoarder, but the good part is he hoarded fun things like knives, guns, tobacco pipes, and such. I volunteered to help sell some of the knives to hopefully put a few bucks in her mom's pocket. I'm talking hundreds of knives and they include everything from WWII quartermaster knives, one off customs, Cold Steel, to a box of 75 SAK's. I am considering buying the $30 membership to sell here, but reading through the rules states that each knife must have a specific asking price. I am wondering if the mods would be willing to allow some wiggle room on that? I just took a pic of 6 Buck 110 folders that range from one pre-68 to one 87 with a rounded off and re-ground tip. To be honest I simply don't have the time to photograph, research, and try to find a asking price for each individual knife. Would I be allowed to start a thread in the for sale area and put "no reasonable offer refused". I will do my best to describe any details about each knife and offer closer picture if anyone were to ask, but I can't see myself pricing each one of these. I photographed over 50 of them today and that was only one tote box of about 5. I run my own business and simply do not have the time, but nor do I want to sell them as a lot on ebay because there is some really nice stuff in there mixed in with some junk.

Thank you.

Price the ones in best condition, take 10%-20% or whatnot off of that price for copies in worse condition. Also, you can state that you will accept reasonable offers when you make your sale post. Use your best judgement. It's really all up to you, but yes, you should put a starting price of some sort.

Thanks for the reply. When it comes to the 110's and the other multiple knives I can get a solid estimate from Ebay to price them, but how do I price the customs and war relic knives? Bayonets and Ka-Bar's, etc. I know only enough to be dangerous so to speak. I don't know the difference between a $5 copy and an authentic military issue. To be honest I just want them gone as quick as possible, but on the other hand I don't want to sell a $100 Knife for $5. If these were mine I straight up wouldn't give a rat's ass, but since I'm selling them for someone else I feel sort of responsible to not get screwed if you can understand my position.

A Gold membership also allows you to ask about value. You could post pictures of the relics and customs in Bernard Levine's subforum asking for any information on the knife, maker, date range, value, etc. Be patient, if you do. It sometimes takes a couple of days for the right set of eyes to see them and provide the needed information. Take a look at this sticky to get an idea of what they will need from you: READ THIS FIRST! How to ask questions that get answered

Hope this helps.
