New guy here, long time lurker with first post. I have a handful of pocket folders, emerson cqc 7, 10, 15, strider smf, OG Benchmade strider cqc 7, benchmade mini grip. All nice in my book, and fit my use. Recently i wanted a USA made Spyderco, the para military 2. After not finding one local and being impatient i settled on the Manix 2, nice comfortable pocket folder, seems well built, and seems like a solid knife. Not sure if it is because i am not used to it, but i do not care for the heft in the spring holding back the lock. It takes a fair amount of pressure to release/ Will this lighten up with use, or is this just the way it is. The axis lock on the Benchmade is very easy to manipulate, and unlocks with ease.
I seem to have a thing for the Emerson knives, and am now lusting after the Roadhouse. My Cqc 7 is 8 years old and has been threw the ringer, not a single issue and is a complete tank.
Anyway, lots of good info here, and thanxs for letting me in.
Cheers.

Welcome from another relatively new guy. :)

I have a Manix 2 on order, so no experience with the knife yet but looking forward to getting it in next week.

It's much tighter than the axis lock. I've got use to pulling down on both sides of the ball cage and flinging the blade down. I like the knife a lot. I have the 154cm model and it takes a nice edge. Fits my hand like a glove and will never get rid of it. Welcome from a fellow newbie.

Welcome to the club deog!

The Manix 2 is a great knife and you'll get used to the ball bearing lock with use... ;) It's definitely different than Benchmade's Axis setup in feel.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Don't get me wrong, i like the knife and realize that i need to get used to the ball lock, it is my first, and there will be a learning curve. I hope it loosens up a bit, other then that, the fit and finish are great, the knife fits my hand perfect, i love how thin it is, and it has a good solid, yet smooth action. Might go search out a pm2 this weekend. The pm2 is the one i wanted to begin with.
My need to acquire list goes as
Emerson Roadhouse
Spyderco PM2
I am not a collector, just like hard use pocket folders of quality, and i like to put them threw there paces.
Thanks for the reply's
