Hi, folks.

Glad I found this forum. I just recently became interested in knives. I've been into firearms for quite a while, but I want to increase my knowledge about defensive weaponry.

I just ordered a Tac Force dagger style folding knife for $8. I figured I can get a sense of the mechanics of the weapon without spending a lot of $$$ right out of the gate. I'll let everyone know my impressions when it arrives.

I'd be interested in any resources regarding use of a knife for self-defense or any other cool thing forum members can think of.

Many thanks!

Welcome to the forums ... another thought if your main interest is in knives as a defensive weapon ... look for a knife that has a trainer of the same model to practice with ... will allow you to learn without the cuts and dangers that will come if you try to learn using a functioning real knife.

Welcome !:) As already stated above , the Practical Tactical subform is the best place for your interest . It's a great place to search for almost any SD related topic . Some of the best threads are old and you'll have to dig some .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I don't have any Tac Force knives but I'd be very hesitant to hard use any cheap folder in martial practice , for fear of lock failure .

My "go to " for SD/ fighting blades is Cold Steel . They have a forum here , but it's more product oriented than tactics .

Welcome and good luck with your search for the right tool to keep you safe or at least give you some peace of mind

Welcome to the forum!!!

There is tons of great info to be found if search old threads.

Although searching ‘Tac Force’ might lead to a dampening of the spirit. Looking forward to the review.

It all depends on if the searcher is looking for confirmation or inspiration: confirmation that their knife is deemed a good choice by others, or inspiration for a potential upgrade that would better suit them. One search will often disappoint, the other could result in another purchase and/or further research and is the better way to go about it.

Knives are always personal, don’t let society tell you what you should want. Tac-Force may be a cheap brand to many, but it’s often a stepping stone into the world of brands like Kershaw or Cold Steel.

Well said.

What about knife throwing?

Is that a thing? Or something they do as a joke in circus movies?
