Hey thanks for the acceptance . I'm a new guy from ky . My main interest is m9 bayonets and okc 3s bayonets I'm looking for a few different types . Thank you

Welcome on board 👍😊👍
I only have one Ontario M9 and six M7 bayonets in my eclectic collection. In other words, just a small sprinkling.

The M9 sure does have a pretty cool history, with it taking much inspiration from Buck's 'Buckmaster 184' survival knife that had been designed for Navy Seal use.

One would think that the M9 would be a fairly inexpensive hobby to get into, but other than the current Ontario M9 bayonets being offered up new for sale in the $100 to $160 price range, they can get scary expensive from there on 😱
There are simply so many variations, a few different makers, and of course the prototypes and such, that could drain someone's bank account pretty fast! 😅

Hope you enjoy your time with us on the boards 👍

Here are the few M7 bayonets I have, (from various makers), and my single Ontario M9 bayonet...

I have all their sheaths as well, but most of them I keep in one of my closets 😊

The OKC3S bayonet blade has a pretty cool start as well. One of Ontario's Engineers, which went by the forum name "Tooj" and was an Ontario forum Moderator/Ontario Representative here on Blade Forums, gave us the scoop on it.
He, (Tooj), had designed the Ontario Spec Plus model SP-6 using inspiration from the Randall Made model #1.
Fast forward to the OKC3s bayonet, it basically being the Spec Plus blade, but with a serrated edge section added to it.

So, here is the Randall Made model #1, (my personal pic/knife)...

Here is the SP-6 that was inspired by the Randall...

Some time after the SP-6 was designed, OKC came out with their Freedom Fighter model that used the SP-6 blade design, (not my pic/knife)...

Then later came the OKC3s from the SP-6 blade design, (not my pic/knife)...

So, in other words, using the Randall Made model #1 as inspiration for the SP-6, the design continued to evolve in house at OKC until we see the OKC3s bayonet 👍

It's pretty cool that the Ontario Knife Company has been a US Military supplier of the M16/M4 rifle system's M-7, M-9, and OKC3s bayonets. Even cooler that OKC is responsible for the OKC3s bayonet design, and as far as I know, has been the only contractor to supply them for the US Marines 🇺🇸

That is awesome!! I like collecting different mil stuff. I have a 120mm abrams sabot training round a 40mm training round a demilled sf scar 7.62 supressor some other odd ball stuff I'm getting rid of to fund bayonet habit haha

welcome.

I have a couple Buck made Phrobis m9s...part of my Buck.collection. thats all I got in bayonets though.....

Welcome!

This thread reminds me that I still need to do a spacer modification so that my Mossberg 590a1 Retrograde will accept my M7 bayonet without being rattlely.

Happiness is taking a 8lb hunk of parked steel and wood sporting a cavernous 12 on the business end and then saying, "You know what else would make this thundering monster an even more terrifying near-warcrime? A sharp jabby bit" 😀

I've been looking for 2 bayonets for my 2 AR-15's. Ontario Knife Company just got sold, so the M9 & OKC-3S Bayonets doubled in price, if you can even find any remaining stock. Here's what I've learned from my search process. While OKC makes some great fixed blade knives, their bayonets are garbage, even the OKC-3S. Neither the M9 or OCK-3S arrive sharp, and both have tubular tangs that aren't very strong. Ontario changed the grip on their M7 bayonet from the old checkered material, where you could clearly see the full tang, to a rubber over moulded grip. I don't know, but I suspect Ontario's newer M7 Bayonet has a weak, tubular stick tang as well. Regarding bayonets for AR-15's and shotguns, there seem to be 2 decent choices. You can either buy a surplus M7 bayonet, which are high carbon steel, or you can buy a stainless reproduction of the M7. The surplus M7 bayonets have increased in price significantly. $90 is the least expensive I've seen. With OKC temporarily not making new knives, sellers raised their prices. It would be nice if a company made an updated M7 bayonet, that is a full 8" long, and comes with a MOLLE/PALS sheath. I have yet to see one. If you really want a bayonet, my suggestion would be a stainless steel M7 reproduction. They're inexpensive, and probably better than the garbage Ontario sold to the military. Several different companies make them. The least expensive is the Marbles version from SMKW, and they get decent reviews.
