I just received my 4th HI (with a pin!) and felt it was a good time to post.
I must say that I am absolutely amazed with a number of things -

1. The quality of information on this forum. You guys are unbelievable, and very willing to share ideas, tips, tricks, etc...

2. How unique each khukuri is. Each one I have feels different and seems to have a soul of its own. No wonder you end up owning one of each (or more).

3. The quality of these knives. I have a small collection of custom knives, some very expensive, but the khuk's seem better than all of them. They cry out to be used and carried and put to work. And at a fraction of the cost! I checked the postage fee on a latest 'blem', and it came to almost $10. Subtract that from the purchase price ($65), and you get one hell of a deal, on a knife that will last forever!

4. And of course, the care and devotion by Uncle Bill and Yangdu. Seem like absolutely wonderful people doing a great thing. It is nice to know too that a good chunk of my money goes directly to the people/kamis in Nepal.

Anyway, just thought I'd give my two cents.

Keeping an eye out for a matching pair of 15" Sirupati's .... ;)

Welcome to the nuthouse (khuk nuts, that is)! Sounds like you've already got a pretty good start!

Howdy, Bamboo, and check your sanity at the door.

Strangely, though, large curved knife posession is not only encouraged, but mandatory... have fun. Matching wits = matching sirupatis.

And don't be too afraid to post. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, eh?

Dang it Bamboo! That's a pretty rotten thing to do to us...

We don't even get to gloat with the usual "Bet you won't stop with just one!"

LOL...Welcome to the Cantina! :)

welcome Bamboo!

welcome to the cantina. great folks, great times, just stay away from Ohio.

Always good to see new faces. Relatively speaking, I'm one! :) Your reasons are my reasons, man!

Have fun and see ya 'round. :D

I didn't even think you guys had fire yet.
For a small fee, I could sell you some advanced technology, like the wheel. :D
;)

dog?

as in Wuff, wuff?

Nasty?

try "meeeeoooowwwww"

:D

First you get an 18 inch Kobra, usually the best are by Kumar, but Sher and Bura do a pretty good job. Then you put it into a dark room with a 12 inch Ang Khola, shut the door.....45 days later you get a litter of mixed Khukuris, and hopefully, through hybrid genetics, two will be 15 inch Sirupatis!!

Of course, remember that the handles have to be the same material, or you get what are typically called "blems", though a good blem can be a great Villager.....and some mutations like Seaxs and Cherokee Roses can result.

Anyway, that's what I tell my girlfriends when they ask how I get so many HI blades..they breed.... :D

Glad to be here. Thanks for the hearty welcome.

Question? Once you're in ... can you get out??

Sure thing!
Develop a country accent, bad spelling, melodramatic writing style and start telling stories about penis-biting dogs and your "pappy" down on the "bayou."

Your ass will be out the door faster than a greasy weasel.
