After hearing about Horton knives from Peter I just read his review of the 7.5" blade camp knife. It looks like a competitor to my Ratweiler. What steel does Horton knives use?

Thanks guys. A-2 just happens to be one of my favorite steels. A lot of my Bark Rivers are in A-2. Right now I am about INFI poor, but I will certainly be looking at the Horton models. They look great to me.

I am happy to be here in the compound. Sorry about getting off on the wrong foot with my ignorance of Scotch whisky, but I'm more of a Tennessee whisky drinker. :D

Welcome HD....I should have said the steel was A2 when giving the Spec's...those "skinny" .27 inch Camp Bloods...if you can call them "skinny":D would be right up your street for a compact performance chopper!:

The best thing to do is browse the pics here and then check with Jeremy when you find something that looks cool.

he sometimes has a few blanks in various thicknesses and different tool steels (A2 and/or D2)... jeremy loves working with REALLY thick steel. Anything over .40 inches is his favorite...he will say things like, "I will never grind stock that thick again"... but he is just kidding:D

Here is a little secret...... after you order a blade wait until he is just about done with it and then ask him to use different handle materials,...thats what i do...Jeremy loves it!!!....lol
