I have a LW T2 with cocobolo handle and it is getting banged up and I would like change it to micarta. Anyone know of a custom maker willing to do somthing like that? Or anywhere that specializes in handles? any help will be great. Thanks
Wade

I figured on the wood would getting banged up when I made the purchase and was also thinking of this idea. Mine has the walnut handles. I really liked the micarta but not sure why they woldn't offer it from the factory. If you find one please let me know.

Well they make one of the larger models with micarta. I dont know why they wouldnt offer that as a option for the T2's? I think that I am going to e-mail LoneWolf and ask if they will make me some. But I doubt that they would make just one set for me. We will see.

Well, lone wolf e-mailed me back and all that they told me was having custom handles made will not void the warranty. I wrote them again asking if they would be willing to make me a set and am still waiting for a reply. Any of our custom knife makers out there interested????? Please???
Wade

Thanks Wade.
Maybe if we can get enough people together interested that lone Wolf might make a run for us? I was even toying with the idea of tracing out the current slabs and doing my own but I haven't worked with Micarta yet. Although another nice hardwood like teak or mahogany would have to look sweet too.

Thanks lukaszki, will do.

GFarrell3, The other hard woods would look nice but I think any wood handle is going to get banged up. I guess I have a liking for micarta. I have them on my RAT7 and love them. I also found the cocobolo hard to hold onto when it was wet, or even when my palms were sweaty. So, I think that I dont want another set of wooden handles, but I also dont want the nylon ones that LW offers either.

Well, the emails have been sent. I hate waiting. Anyother T2 owners out there interested in micarta handles????????????

Yeah same happens to the walnuts slabs also. I was going to get the micarta full-size model but it's a little large for edc'ing. What I found odd was the T2 comes in more styles than the others but no models have micarta. All I could find was the full size tac w/micarta. Full size hunter didn't list it either.

Chase wrote me back and here is what he had to say:
