I dunno if oil or veggie tanned.
Leather (about 1/8 inch ... 3.5mm? thick) came from a axe sheath that didn't fit my Hoosier axe. Strop is 3 x 2.5 inch. Big enuff for my blades.
I decided rough side up.
The leather on the left I use mainy to get a ... stubborn ... fountain pen flowing again is smooth side up, if I need to strop smooth side.
(on right side is faux leather I glued to the desk top .... Tain't fit for making anything with... or using as a strop ... but still ... it didn't feel "right" to just send it to the landfill ... who knows how many Nauga's were killed to get this bit of Nauga Hide????🤨)
