That my friend is awesome work!!! What was the size of the stock your started with it looks very thick. Also what kind of finish did you put on that?

Nice work.

that's pretty badass, i'll email ya my address. no i'm kidding that's a nice piece.

Looks very cool- I really like that finish. How much does it weigh and how's the balance?

Thanks everyone for you comments and compliments!

I think it looks great. Very unique. The real test is in how it performs though.
It performs like cold sharp hard tool steel. For me the challenge is combining good looks with good quality I try to think of them as one. Otherwise I get an art piece or a hunk of sharp steel, my soul wants both. My very first blades where just art sadly:o

Looks very well made. I'd prefer wood scales, but I'm old school like that. Good job.
Customer requested G10, not that I dont like the hot red, but after applyin that finish I really wanted to use some stabilized spalted sycamore. Next one.

3/8" and it was a lotta steel! The finish is just good ole Plum Brown. Makes me think of soil.

haha thanks its sold any how;)

cool cool cool I like it. How does it throw
Never threw it. Almost the same axe but slightly straighter handle and a leather or paracord handle throws great. My lil brother and father throw that style alot.

Thanks that finish is one of my favorites. Just shy of 2 lbs in total. I try to get the balance of my first tomahawk or as close as possible. It feels like it wants to chop for you:D

I like that Hawk ! Real well made, Look's solid "Good Job on the Hawk" And thank's for sharing the picture's,

The shape isn't my cup of tea, but I see a lot of little details in it. Looks like you put a lot of work into it. I do love that patina-type finish.

Very nice, I really like the scrollwork/paisley patina near the edge, really sets its sophistication against its brutality.

I like the use of 0-1. No need to make excuses or rationalizations for any intended use whatsoever. I imagine it is properly heat treated and quenched, so it ought to take as much abuse as the edge geometry is set up to allow.

If I were to order one I'd want a slight outcropping at the back, if not a decent poll area for hammering, but that's just what I'd order for myself.

I like what you've done, and how you've done it. And you've got lots of room to play. Continuing the handle slab discussion, spalted, burl, or curly anything would set that brown off nicely, but it would be just as sick with combat grade canvas micarta on any durable earth-tone or dark coating.
I'm looking forward to seeing this one in different guises, hope you get some orders as well as well-wishers.

Very cool looking. If I were making a utilitarian fighter without regard to the nice smooth lines you've achieved, I would make the "spike" a little larger and move it an inch farther out from the handle. Unfortunately, that would lose the great look of your design.

Nicely done!

Well, I've always been very skeptical about all steel axes, particularly the full tang ones...
Yet it looks very good.

I like the shapes, and I love the finish. I like how you added all sorts of little details with bevels and such- it adds some touches that make it much more attractive than if you'd just cut it out of a plate & ground an edge on.

If I have any concerns at all, it would be for the steel handle. An axe gets its chopping power by having so much mass clustered in the head with a relatively lightweight handle. By adding weight in the haft you will actually decrease its chopping performance since you're changing the moments of inertia. Not to mention making it slower handling & having more weight to lug around on your belt. Have you considered adding some cutouts, fullers, or holes, etc., to reduce weight from the haft? I think this could really look cool & fit with the design, and improve performance at the same time. FWIW. Even so, congrats on a nice lookin' piece.

Very impressive design! I can't help but imagine a curved spike coming off the flat spot on the back of the head. Regardless, exceptional work there!

You should be proud of that one! Pretty kick a$$ indeed. I would like to get me one of those. Any interest in making another?
